As this month quickly passes I have been thinking about different events that have taken place over the last year. For starters I have been pregnant, given birth, been layed off along with the rest of my department, gained 48 lbs and lost 23. I have learned the love of a mother, realized a fathers love, looked through the world of new eyes, really learned what worry really feels like. I've watched the economy take a plunge along with gas prices, found out what a hospital stay costs, and learned to deal with a greedy insurance company. I have seen history take place with the election of an african american president and watch a love one start to heal the scars of war by achieving goals that he promised himself that he would achieve. I have learned that the happiness of my family contributes to my own happiness, which has helped me learn to be happy in this very moment because time passing, happy or not.
There are millions lessons we learn in our lifetime. This year has been no exception. The realization of being a mother has been most enlightening. My view of the world is changed as I move from being #1.

That is so insightful. I can't believe how much being a mom has changed me, I am a totally different person than I was 4 years ago. I hope you guys have a Very Merry Christmas. It has been great keeping in touch with you through our blogs!
Kat, your blog is adorable! Thank you Nicole for showing it to me. I just teared up a bit reading this post. I love you and Bryan and Olivia! Bryan is so lucky to have you. And my kids are lucky to have such a great "aunt" and "uncle"! Love April Joy
I love to read posts like this. I really miss hearing your day to day thoughts in person. I'm so impressed by what a good person you are and I'm sure that if your little Liv turns out to be anything like her mom, then the world will be a better place. We love you guys and miss you.
